GREAT is a Headquarters enforcement action tracking system that is used to track NPDES violators. SCOPE- The system supports several types of enforcement actions, i.e., administrative orders, notices of violations, and Quarterly Noncompliance Report Data. General Record of Enforcement Tracking is a relatively small system, approximately 800 actions per year, which records information on the two main National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) related issuances, administrative orders and notices of violations. It includes water enforcement information on all major and important minor NPDES facilities. Administrative orders are issued directly to non-complying facilities whereas notice of violations are sent to state agencies which have legal jurisdiction for a particular type of violation. GREAT master records identify state region, NPDES permit number, type of violation, date facility name and address, SIC, river basin, date and type of settlement, and tracking information such as attorney's name and date referred.
